The first, star-studded trailer for Boots Riley’s upcoming crime comedy, I Love Boosters, brings a candy-coated aesthetic to the world of shoplifting.
The trailer starts with Keke Palmer telling Will Poulter why she deserves to fill one of the positions in his all-green fashion boutique. Her answer, which includes her saying she deserves everything in the store anyway, impresses Poulter’s character.

The rest of the colorful and stylish trailer shows Palmer’s crew, including Naomi Ackie, Taylour Paige, Poppy Liu and Eiza González, planning and executing their heist of a racially-insensitive fashion mogul, played by Demi Moore. LaKeith Stanfield and Don Cheadle also star.
When does the film premiere?
The film will make its world premiere as South by Southwest’s opening night film. The festival starts on March 12. It will then be in theaters on May 22, via Neon.
