Sharp-eyed viewers have sent the internet into a frenzy after noticing rapper Travis Scott in the latest television spot for Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey.
The spot aired during Sunday’s Fox broadcast of the AFC Championship game between the Denver Broncos and New England Patriots, confirming Scott’s cameo in the film.
It shows Scott interrupting the mess hall where Menelaus (Jon Bernthal) and Telemachus (Tom Holland) are convening. Scott yells to the people in the hall, “A war, a man, a trick–a trick to break the walls of Troy. It’s burning, screaming to the ground.”
Clips of the TV spot went viral on social media, despite it not officially debuting online yet.
Christopher Nolan has worked with Travis Scott
As wild as it seems for Scott to be in the film, it actually falls in line with Nolan’s penchant for rehiring actors and creators he’s worked with in the past. As Deadline reports, Scott created “The Plan” for the Tenet soundtrack, with Nolan describing Scott’s voice to GQ in 2020 as “the final piece of a yearlong puzzle.” He also called Scott’s musical insights “immediate, insightful and profound.”
