Along with Jada Pinkett-Smith spilling the tea about her personal life in her new memoir, Worthy, the actress confirmed that her beloved show, Red Table Talk, is coming back next year.
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Pinkett-Smith discussed how Worthy was penned with Red Table Talk, which she co-hosted with her daughter, Willow, and mother, Adrienne, in mind.
“I really wanted to tie in the Red Table Talk component, where it’s like we’re having this intimate conversation, and then you get to the end of the chapter, and it’s like, all right, let’s look at this. Let’s do some work together,” she said.
The 52-year-old mother of two continued by saying she “didn’t want to just lay the journey on people in a way of, ‘Here’s what I went through,’ without going, ‘And, hey, this is also how I got through a lot of this.’ If it can help you get through a challenging moment or a sticky point that you might be in, great, because that’s what we’re here to do for each other, help each other through this thing called life.”

When asked if there was a chance that Red Table Talk would return, Pinkett-Smith confirmed there would indeed be a new season.
“Oh, yeah. We’re going to bring it back next year. I wouldn’t have been able to do Red Table Talk and this book,” she said, adding that Willow was touring and needed a break.
“We’re sorry to see Facebook Watch go, but it was actually helpful in our personal journeys at that time” she added.
In April, it was announced that Red Table Talk, a Facebook Watch Originals series that ran for five seasons, was canceled. Though the news was unexpected for many, Pinkett-Smith assured viewers that it wasn’t the end by posting an Instagram statement.
“We are so grateful to have had such a beautiful partnership with Facebook Watch and we are sorry to see the entire team disbanded. We wish everyone well in their new journeys to come,” she wrote at the time. “We at Red Table are in talks of finding a new home and we’ll see you soon.”
The show resonated with millions of viewers due to the level of vulnerability that Pinkett-Smith and her guests often displayed. In the premiere episode, the Set It Off actress sat down with husband Will Smith‘s ex-wife, Sheree Elizabeth Zampino, to discuss how their relationship has evolved throughout the decades despite a rocky start.
