The iconic voice of Darth Vader has officially returned.
James Earl Jones has been confirmed as Reprising the voice of Darth Vader in the Disney+ series Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to TVLine, Jones’s voice was heard in the series’ third episode, which premiered Wednesday.
Perhaps fans might’ve expected to hear Jones speak as Darth Vader, but Jones’ Involvement with the series was kept under wraps, even at the Star Wars Celebration Day events, which featured Disney+ revealing several new Star Wars series coming down the line.
The series also includes the return of Hayden Christensen, who is reprising his role of Anakin Skywalker, the person behind the figure of Darth Vader.
The news of Jones’ return to the role comes as Star Wars has thought back against racist comments about Moses Ingram, who plays Reva, an Inquisitor for the Empire. Both the Star Wars social media account and Ewan McGregor have come out and support of Ingram, speaking against racist fans who have bullied Ingram online.
New episodes of Obi-Wan Kenobi are expected to debut each Wednesday on Disney+.
