Grey’s Anatomy alum Jerrika Hinton is guest-starring on Thursday night’s episode of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit on NBC, and she is key to what Octavio Pisano’s Detective Joe Velasco is up to now.
Per the logline for the Season 27 episode, titled “Deep Under,” — Benson is shocked to find undercover Det. Velasco at the center of a sex trafficking bust. When more women are smuggled into the city, a rescued victim begs SVU to help save her sister.
As you can see in the below preview, Benson (Mariska Hargitay) has a conversation with Hinton’s character, who is Velasco’s handler while he is undercover. While a tip that Velasco sent into SVU saves a group of trafficked women, Agent Weber (Hinton) says Velasco went behind her back but she is worried about him and how deep he may be in.
