Disney Branded Television announced on Friday that the beloved sitcom, Malcolm in the Middle, would be returning for a four-episode revival series on Disney+.
The 20th Television and New Regency series will see select cast members turn.
The original Malcolm in the Middle “saw young genius Malcolm trying to navigate life with his quirky, often difficult family,” and in the new episodes, “Malcolm and his daughter are drawn into the family’s chaos when Hal and Lois demand his presence for their 40th wedding anniversary party.”
Which original ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ cast members are returning?
Frankie Muniz as Malcolm, Bryan Cranston as Hal, and Jane Kaczmarek as Lois are confirmed to return. A premiere date and additional cast are set to be revealed at a later date.

Original series creator is also returning
The original series first debuted on Fox in 2000 and is arguably considered the pioneer the single-camera television format, paving the way for The Office, 30 Rock and more. It received 7 Emmy Awards, a Peabody Award and more.
Linwood Boomer, the series creator, will return as writer and will also executive produce. created the original series and returns as writer and executive producer. Cranston, Tracy Katsky, Gail Berman, and New Regency’s Arnon Milchan, Yariv Milchan and Natalie Lehmann will also executive produce. Jimmy Simons and Laura Delahaye are co-executive producers. Ken Kwapis will direct all four episodes.
