Antoine Fuqua’s film Michael, the long-awaited and high-profile Michael Jackson biopic, is getting pushed back until next year.

Now, Michael won’t reach the theaters until Oct. 3, 2025. This means fans of the King of Pop will have to wait even longer to see Jackson’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, portray his famous uncle.

Originally, the Lionsgate film was meant for an April 18, 2025 release. But now the film will be one of two major fall releases for the studio. Aziz Ansari’s big comeback of sorts will be in the form of Good Fortune, a comedy starring Ansari (Which he wrote and directed), with Keke Palmer, Seth Rogen, Sandra Oh and Keanu Reeves starring.

Along with Jaafar Jackson, Michael stars Nia Long and Colman Domingo as Joe and Katherine Jackson, Laura Harrier as Jackson’s mentor Suzanne de Passe, Derek Luke as Jonnie Cochran, Larenz Tate as Berry Gordy, Kat Graham as Diana Ross, Liv Simone as Gladys Knight, Kendrick Sampson as Quincy Jones, and KeiLyn Durrel Jones as Jackson’s security manager and friend Bill Bray.

Other actors also include Jessica Sula, who will play LaToya Jackson and Juliano Krue Valdi as young Michael. Jayden Harville and Jamal R. Henderson will play the younger and older versions of Jermaine Jackson, Laylen Lyndon Hunter and Tre Horton as younger and older Marlon Jackson, Judah Edwards and Rhyan Hill as younger and older Tito Jackson and Nathaniel Logan McIntyre and Joseph David-Jones as younger and older Jackie Jackson.
