The long-awaited casting of Young Tasha in the upcoming Power prequel series, Power: Origins, has been revealed.
Zuri Reed will play the young adult version of Naturi Naughton’s character from the original series.
She joins Spence Moore II and Charlie Mann, who will play young Ghost and Tommy, as well as MeKai Curtis, who will reprise his role of young Kanan from Power Book III: Raising Kanan. Deadline first reported the news of Reed’s casting.
As Starz previously revealed, “The series will continue to explore the Power universe in fresh and compelling ways, delving into the action-packed origin story of fan-favorite characters Ghost, Tommy and Kanan as ambitious young entrepreneurs on the rise, determined to make their mark on the streets of New York City. A fun, rambunctious exploration of a new time period in the Power franchise, Power: Origins will highlight the unbridled audacity of young men on the rise, determined to become legends in the game.”

The series will also star Jason Dirden, Jennifer Ferrin, Lizzy DeClement, Lenny Platt, Armani Gabriel and Everett Osborne.
Recurring cast members announced so far are Kelly McCreary, Hill Harper, Nadia Dajani, Damon Gupton, Tonya Pinkins and Dominic Rains.
‘Power: Legacy’ is in development
We previously reported that Power: Origins will be the fourth spinoff of Power, following Power Book II: Ghost, Power Book III: Raising Kanan and Power Book IV: Force. Ghost ended in 2024, Force ended in 2025, and the upcoming season of Kanan is its last. well.
