Paramount has set a 2027 release for the directorial debut from newly-minted Oscar nominee Teyana Taylor.
The film, titled Get Lite, stars Euphoria alum Storm Reid. It is centered on “a talented, but sheltered, dance student” who “finds inspiration, love, and family in the last place he expected: the subways of New York City,” as the new logline states.
As we once reported, a previous logline was as follows: The film follows a studious New York City teenager who has his world upended when he falls for a charismatic beatmaker (played by Reid) who recruits him to join her Litefeet dance crew, forcing him to choose between a safe academic path and his rekindled love of dance.
The male lead has not been cast yet.
Reid will also produce the pic under her A Seed & Wings banner, and Kenya Barris and Anni Weisband are producing for Barris’s Khalabo Ink Society. Robin Simpson is executive producing for A Seed & Wings Productions, and Bill Karesh is executive producing for OffBrnd. Taylor is also an executive producer.
When will ‘Get Life’ be released, and what are other Paramount dates?
The film’s release date is set for April 9, 2027.
Paramount has also given dates to films such as the western film The Rescue starring Brandon Sklenar (Jan. 29, 2027), the David Cornswet NFL biopic Mr. Irrelevant (Dec. 25, 2026), and an untitled horror film (July 16, 2027).
