The Gilded Age Season 4 adds more regulars to the cast, including Jordan Donica and Dennis Haysbert.

Deadline reports that Donica, who played Dr. William Kirkland in Season 3, will now be a series regular after William proposing to journalist Peggy (Denée Benton) at a year-end gala. The storyline was a triumphant point in William and Peggy’s relationship, since William’s uppity mother, Elizabeth (Phylicia Rashad), looks down on Peggy because of her darker skin and her father’s (John Douglas Thompson) enslaved past.

Haysbert joins the cast as Dr. Reginald Harris, William’s mentor, who comes to New York to fundraise for Washington, DC’s Freedman’s Hospital. The description for his character also adds that Reginald makes a “surprising connection.”
