The Last of Us has dropped a new trailer ahead of Season 2’s premiere on HBO.

The news comes just as new information about when Season 2 will debut was revealed at Sony’s press conference at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES).

Co-creator, writer and executive producer Neil Druckmann revealed that Season 2, which will have seven episodes, will debut in April on HBO. No word yet on the exact date.

What is Season 2 of ‘The Last of Us’ going to be about?

Here’s the season’s logline: Five years after the events of the first season, Joel and Ellie are drawn into conflict with each other and a world even more dangerous and unpredictable than the one they left behind.

Returning cast members include Pedro Pascal as Joel, Bella Ramsey as Ellie, Gabriel Luna as Tommy, and Rutina Wesley. New cast members are Kaitlyn Dever as Abby, Isabela Merced as Dina, Young Mazino as Jesse, Ariela Barer as Mel, Tati Gabrielle as Nora, Spencer Lord as Owen, Danny Ramirez as Manny, and Jeffrey Wright as Isaac. Catherine O’Hara guest stars.

Based on the iconic video game franchise, the series is is written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Druckmann. It is a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and other executive producers are Carolyn Strauss, Jacqueline Lesko, Cecil O’Connor, Asad Qizilbash, Carter Swan and Evan Wells. Halley Gross is a write rand co-executive producer. PlayStation Productions, Word Games, Mighty Mint and Naughty Dog are the production companies.
