After a teaser trailer dropped in December, the full trailer has now been relased for The Drama, the upcoming A24 film starring Zendaya and Robert Pattinson.
As we previously reported, the brief logline states, “A happily engaged couple is put to the test when an unexpected turn sends their wedding week off the rails.”
Alana Haim, Mamoudou Athie and Hailey Benton Gates also star in the film, and Kristoffer Borgli is the writer and director.
The supporting cast is featured more in this new trailer, which kind of goes more into how the wedding weekend unravels, which seems to be kicked off by a confession from Emma once the friend group discusses the worst thing they’ve done. The never-before-revealed secret, unknown to viewers, gets a cold reception from the table and sends Pattinson’s Charlie into a spiral.
Back in December, A24’s early promo for the movie included a marriage announcement listing in the Boston Globe. The listing describes Zendaya’s Emma Harwood as a 2017 honors graduate of Boston University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in English. It lists Pattinson’s Charlie Thompson as a 2004 graduate of Eaton College, and that he got his Ph.D in Art History from Tufts. Emma works at Mission Books, while Charlie is the Director of the Cambridge Art Museum. Emma’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roger Harwood, announced the engagement in the paper. Charlie’s parents are stated to be Mr. and Mrs. Alan Thompson of London, England. Emma’s father is said to be “a decorated military veteran.”
When will ‘The Drama’ be in theaters?
This is the third film for Pattinson and Zendaya this year. They’ll also star together in this year’s The Odyssey and Dune: Part Three.
The Drama will be released on April 3. Watch the full trailer below:
