Fat Joe is apparently tired of hearing Irv Gotti talk about Ashanti.

According to 9Mag TV, the rapper took to Instagram Live to share his thoughts on the music executive’s comments about Ashanti and their alleged affair. As Blavity previously reported, Gotti appeared on the Drink Champs podcast, where he spilled the tea on their supposed rendezvous and had some unkind words to describe the singer.

“Irv Gotti a sucker man,” Fat Joe said in a clip. “And so my thing is, first is first, however long ago was that? How many millions ago was the Verzuz? That’s what I want to know.”

Joe was quick to explain that he’s “not talking crazy to Irv” but suggests that he should stay in his lane.

“Yo Irv stop. You’re a producer,” he said.

Later, the 51-year-old said that he was minding his own business when he came upon Gotti’s Drink Champs episode, and was unimpressed with the way the producer was talking about Ashanti.

“Whatever Irv has with Ashanti is 20 years old,” he said. “I know he was making some points that mean a lot to him, his heart and soul, but when you keep ranting about somebody 20 years later, it feels like he’s not over the young lady.”

He also shared that back in the day, he had no idea that the “Foolish” singer and Gotti had an intimate relationship.

“We didn’t know they were f**king,” he said. “The whole time I was there [and] I never seen them together like that.”

Ultimately, he was happy to be in the dark then, and is happy to be in the dark now.

“I don’t need to know,” Fat Joe said.

Joe also said in the clip that there’s a time and a place for opening up about past relationships and that Gotti is doing too much on the wrong platforms.

“Now it’s OK if it’s on a documentary, you gotta say your truth on a documentary, but to go to Drink Champs and keep calling her a b***h, keep disrespecting…” he paused, shaking his head.

“It kinda bring less credibility to everything else you say,” he added.

However, Joe made a point not to take away Gotti’s accomplishments, noting that it’s “a fact” that the producer is a “genius.”

“He make himself look crazy disrespecting [Ashanti] now, and the woman never really disrespected him,” he said.
