Academy award-winning actress Viola Davis‘ reaction to the heat of her wings during an appearance on Hot Ones was so hilarious that it went viral.

Fans of the critically acclaimed actress have mostly seen Davis in a professional and sophisticated light. But that changed after a clip of her reaction on First We Feast‘s show Hot Ones left fans laughing.

Davis was a recent celebrity guest on the YouTube show that is known for its “hot questions and even hotter wings” — which usually has guests rethinking their decision to be a part of it.

The interview took place ahead of the release of her new movie, The Woman King, about the African kingdom of Dahomey.

In each episode, host Sean Evans asks a question while he and the guests eat hot wings. The catch is, every time a new question is asked, there is a new level of hot sauce on the wing that is spicier than the last.

During her interview, Davis discussed different elements of her career, how she got started, and tips for any upcoming actors hoping to walk in her footsteps.

Although some of her famous facial expressions showed up in the interview, Davis mostly ate the wings with ease because she loves spicy food.

This was until she was asked the seventh question by Evans, while her chicken wing was drenched in a hot sauce named “Da’ Bomb.” This was when things took a turn for the How to Get Away With Murder actress.

She took a bite and immediately coughed, frowned up, and looked at the host in shock — she couldn’t contain her reaction.

“Nobody’s ever whooped your ass after all these chicken wings?” she asked Evans. “Nobody has ever said stop the camera, I’m going to go over there and whoop your ass?”

Social media couldn’t help but respond to the clip that showed a new side of Davis.

The epic moment wasn’t the first time someone questioned Evans and the crew about getting physical due to the spiciness of the wings. Idris Elba had a similar response during his interview as well.

Seems it’s just too much heat in the Hot Ones kitchen!
