Netflix has canceled the YA vampire drama First Kill after one season.

The series starred Sarah Catherine Hook and Imani Lewis as two girls from opposite sides of the supernatural falling in love, despite their families wanting to kill each other.

Deadline broke the news that the streamer would not be pursuing a second season.

Here's the description:

When it’s time for teenage vampire Juliette (Sarah Catherine Hook) to make her first kill so she can take her place among a powerful vampire family, she sets her sights on a new girl in town named Calliope (Imani Lewis). But much to Juliette’s surprise, Calliope is a vampire hunter from a family of celebrated slayers. Both find that the other won’t be so easy to kill and, unfortunately, way too easy to fall for.

Felicia D. Henderson was the writer, executive producer and showrunner. The series is based on the short story by author Victoria “V.E.” Schwab. Schwab also serves as writer and executive producer.

Other executive producers include Emma Roberts and Karah Preiss via their company Belletrist Productions.
