Today, conditions in our country seem to be on an extreme decline. From preventable, structural fails to natural disasters, one constant we've seen is the dismal efforts of our sitting president, Donald J. Trump to help these places and their people. Coincidentally, the populations of said places (i.e. Flint, Michigan and Puerto Rico) are not at the top of 45's priority preservation list and I'm sure we can all guess why.

Remember the disastrous water crisis of Flint, MI? Of course, you do, because it still exists today. However, amidst her own crisis resolution phase, she has managed to be a shoulder to cry on, for another female Mayor facing a very similar issue. Dr. Karen Weaver wrote a very personalized letter to San Juan, PR Mayor Carmen Yulin Cruz, expressing empathy of the circumstances, shared outrage at the lack of Presidential and government assistance, and offering self as a resource of support.

President Trump visited Puerto Rico this past Tuesday and the effort was dismal, to say the least. He has gone as far as insulting the Mayor of San Juan, for which Mayor Weaver was not going to let slip by the wayside. She commented:

"“I commend you for shouting, screaming, yelling if necessary to get the response the people of San Juan deserve. It is our duty to our citizens. It is our families, our friends, and our neighbors, we are serving.”

Now that's what we call girl power.
