nullThe series orders and cancellations are starting to come in… I’ve already shared a few on Twitter. I’ll publish a full round-up once the dust settles (I will say for now that every Shonda Rhimes series has been renewed, as well as "Black-ish" and "American Crime," all on ABC).

In the meantime, here’s one that got a lot of you talking when the pilot was announced in February…

FOX has given a series order to the medical drama "Rosewood" which stars Morris Chestnut.

In it, Chestnut the title character, Rosewood – as in Dr. Beaumont Rosewood – a gifted, charismatic pathologist, and the best at what he does in all of Miami (FL), who owns one of the most sophisticated, state-of-the-art independent labs in the country, and finds the secrets in corpses that others usually miss. Despite being constantly surrounded by death, Rosewood is obsessed with life and savors every moment. His eternal optimism frustrates the cynical female detective he often works with (played by Jaina Lee Ortiz), but she can’t argue with the results that his unique perspective provides.

The project hails from Todd Harthan, whose past TV credits include "Psych" and "Dominion."

FOX hasn’t dated the series yet, but it’ll likely debut some time during the 2015/2016 TV season, whether in the fall, or as a mid-season replacement in the winter.

Chestnut recently inked a 3-picture deal with Sony’s Screen Gems, that will see him act in, as well as produce projects for the studio. The above project is with Fox, by the way, another studio.

He’s already booked for the upcoming thriller "The Perfect Guy," which he co-stars in with Sanaa Lathan and Michael Ealy, as well as a starring role in the psychological thriller "When the Bough Breaks," joining Regina Hall.

Meanwhile, Chestnut’s 3rd project under his 3-picture deal with Screen Gems, will be something called "The Syndicate," from writer Cliff Dorfman ("Entourage"), which Chestnut is producing. No details on what that one’s about just yet.

So he’s busy…
