FOX has announced that "Sleepy Hollow," which has its fall finale on Thursday, Nov. 19, from 9 to 10pm ET/PT, and which has been under-performing in terms of ratings, will move to Friday nights at 8pm, when it returns after the holidays, with all-new episodes on Feb. 5. 

This will be the 3rd time the network has shifted the show’s air date and time. In its first season, it was a Monday night series, airing after "Gotham;" and this season, it was moved to Thursday nights, competing directly with "Shonda Rhimes Night" series on ABC ("Scandal" specifically). And now, starting in February of 2016, it’s heading to Friday nights at 8pm.

As I’ve said before on this blog, Friday nights are often where TV shows are sent to die. So I think, with this move, it’s very likely that this will be the last season for "Sleepy Hollow" – unfortunately for the show’s creators, actors, and fans.

FOX also announced the second half season returns of both "Rosewood" and "Empire." Fans of both series will have to wait a little longer after the holidays, because "Rosewood" will return on March 2; and "Empire" won’t be back until March 30. The "Empire" fall finale episode airs on December 2, which means a rather lengthy almost 4 months until the hit series returns for the second half of the current season. 

In other announcements, FOX has set the premiere date for "Lucifer," the new drama based on the characters from DC Entertainment’s Vertigo imprint, for Monday, Jan. 25 (9-10 PM ET/PT). Also, the next chapter of "The X-Files" debuts with a special two-night event beginning Sunday, Jan. 24 (10-11 PM ET), following the NFC CHAMPIONSHIP GAME, and continuing with its regular time period premiere on Monday, Jan. 25 (8-9 PM ET/PT).
