Gabrielle Union and Dwayne Wade have announced the birth of their new baby girl. The couple’s first child together arrived on Wednesday via a surrogate.
According to E! News, the couple, who’ve been married for four years, announced the news via Instagram. The actress shared a heartfelt message to her newborn coupled with three beautiful family pics in the hospital.
“A LOVELY DAY ???????????????????????? We are sleepless and delirious but so excited to share that our miracle baby arrived last night via surrogate and 11/7 will forever be etched in our hearts as the most loveliest of all the lovely days,” she wrote. Welcome to the party sweet girl!”
The couple's new bundle of joy comes after a long time trying to become pregnant. Union detailed her eight miscarriages and IVF treatments in her book We’re Going to Need More Wine. She also once revealed to People she did not initially want children, but after interacting with Wade's three sons, her outlook changed.
"I never wanted kids," she said. "Then I became a stepmom, and there was no place I'd rather be than with them."
The child’s name hasn’t been announced yet, but congrats to their family.
