Gabrielle Union responded to a couples therapist regarding her comments about splitting the bills with her husband, Dwyane Wade.

On Sunday, The Shade Room shared a video of Beverley Andre, a couples therapist who supported the actor’s decision to share the financial responsibilities with the three-time NBA champion.

“Do whatever makes sense for you and your household,” Andre said. “Whatever makes sense for you and yours, do what makes sense for you and yours. What she chooses to do with hers, that’s their business; there is no right or wrong way.”

“You know what, good sis is thriving, she’s beautiful, and you know what… I ain’t got to say it because she is very much,” she added as the video transitioned to a clip of the couple as they danced and shared a kiss to Beyoncé’s “My Husband” TikTok song in the background.

The 50-year-old addressed the now-viral topic and explained why her decision works well in her marriage.

“Every household is different and doing what’s best for you and yours is the key,” she wrote in response to Andre’s post. “And what some don’t understand is that I’m 100% responsible for 3 other households and D has even more. The majority of those households are elderly ppl and minors. We both come from families that step up to help care for children or elderly relatives. So being able to be with someone who meets me half way and lightens my load gives me peace and support. He’s offered to cover me trust, but that’s not my ministry nor brings me peace. All that to say, I love how we recognize that there’s billions of ways to exist and you just gotta find what’s right for you that brings YOU peace. I found mine ❤️”

As Blavity reported, Union talked about financial security and why she splits the bills with the Chicago native in an interview with Bloomberg’s Idea Generation earlier this month.

The Bring It On star also revealed she has anxiety about her finances and struggles with her wealth.

“I have more responsibilities for my money,” she mentioned. “I get nervous if a movie doesn’t open; am I gonna have enough to hold everyone up?” Union explained.

Despite what others may have said about the couple’s marriage, they appear happy with their decision and thriving, as Andre mentioned.
