Golden Brooks (likley most known for her work on Girlfriends years ago) has joined the cast of the CW's Hart of Dixie for its upcoming second season.

Brooks will play Ruby Jeffries – a character described as follows:

A successful woman with acerbic wit who returns to BlueBell and makes quick friends with Rachel Bilson's Zoe. However, upon her return home, Ruby will encounter some unresolved issues with her fellow townspeople — including Lemon (Jaime King) and Lavon (Cress Williams).

Since the end of Girlfriends, Ms Brooks has appeared in a number of indie feature films and TV shows.

Hart of Dixie season 2 premieres Tuesday, Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
