Great news is circulating for all the brides-to-be regarding fashion after Hanifa designer Anifa Mvuemba announced her new fashion brand, Hanifa Bridal.

In 2011, the D.C. native established Hanifa, a global luxury brand with a direct-to-consumer business model, and has successfully risen to fashion fame throughout the years. In 2020, the trendsetter had a monumental moment when she went viral for creating a digital fashion show experience to showcase since the world was in lockdown due to the pandemic. And now, she couldn’t be more thrilled to expand her household brand to the bridal space.

“The essence of Hanifa isn’t only in the garments we create, but also in the relationships we build with our customers,” she told WWD. “We understand the significance of each moment in their lives and strive to be a brand that accompanies them every step of the way. We are honored to be a part of their special moments, and our debut bridal fashion collection is a testament to this commitment.”

Mvuemba shared the exciting news by posting a photo of her business logo and the word “BRIDAL” on her Instagram with a caption that read, “A dream come true. 🥹 @hanifabridal @hanifaofficial.”

One user jokingly replied, “I have no man but I’m so ready for this 😂❤️”

“This collection represents the culmination of my years of experience in curation, attention to detail and exploration of the theme of love,” Mvuemba said in the WWD interview. “We have poured our hearts into creating a collection that embodies our brand’s commitment to self-discovery, self-acceptance and love. Emphasizing the importance of self-love and self-worth before marriage and drawing inspiration from the symbols of devotions and grace.”

The bridal collection was intentionally made with inclusivity in mind to ensure women of all shapes and sizes can purchase from her brand and feel their most beautiful and comfortable when they walk down the aisle. The gowns will contain “custom beading, gatherings, drapes and feathers” on “duchess satin, customized hand-beaded fabrics, silk satin faced organza and silk charmeuse,” among other textures.

As for the future of Hanifa Bridal, Mvuemba said she and her team plan to offer “full custom looks,” along with veils, footwear and even more wedding day accessories.

The “bridal couture” and “ready-to-wear” collection will debut at the Hanifa Bride Runway Experience on Oct. 15 at the Salamander Resort in Middlesburg, Virginia. They will be available for purchase at hanifa.co on Oct. 20.
