R&B artist H.E.R. is now a Grammy Award winner.
Born Gabriella Wilson, H.E.R. won two gramophones for best R&B song for "Best Part" and best R&B album for her self-titled debut project at the 61st annual celebration of music on Sunday night. The California native was nominated for five awards, including best new artist.

When accepting her honor, H.E.R. acknowledged that she couldn't have made it alone. She called on her team to join her onstage as she continued delivering her remarks.
"I'm speechless right now. I'm holding back tears," H.E.R. said to the crowd. "I really want to say thank you to God, first and foremost, and my parents, who are in the building right now, and my sister. Mom, dad, this is for all the sacrifices that you made for me and thank you for embracing my talents and who I am since I was a little girl."
Per SFGate, H.E.R. was first discovered when she appeared on The Today Show at just 12 years old where she performed a cover of an Alicia Keys song on the morning program. She was also a contestant on Radio Disney's The Next Big Thing.
This is a moment the 21-year-old said she has been dreaming about for years. In an interview earlier this month with CBS' Gayle King, H.E.R. revealed that when she had insomnia growing up, she would think of her future award acceptance speech as she drifted off to sleep.
Looks like she won't have to wonder about that speech much longer.
