Hurricane Harvey, which is marked as one of the worst flooding disasters in recent U.S history per The Huffington Post, did not hold back as it made landfall Friday. The Category 4 storm spiraled into a catastrophe that claimed thousands of Houston residents' homes. Several residents have even gone missing.

People from all walks of life are banding together on social media to share ways to provide aid to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

On Sunday night, comedian Kevin Hart posted a video on Instagram challenging his celebrity friends and colleagues to help the victims of Hurricane Harvey in any way they can.

“I think we’ve participated in a lot of challenges on the Internet. Some meaningful, some meaningless, but we’ve all done ’em,” said the actor in the video below. “At this point, I’m going to start a real challenge.”

And a real challenge Hart started indeed.

“This is a serious matter,” Hart said in the video according to Associated Press. “I think the people are in bad shape and they need help. I’m going to lead the charge and step it up in this way.”

Hart pledged his donation of $25,000 to the American Red Cross Association in the clip.

Hart took the lead for the "Hurricane Harvey Relief Challenge" but made sure to tag several prolific entertainers in his post to carry on the torch.

The celebrities included Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Dave Chappelle, Beyonce, Chris Rock, Jerry Seinfeld, Justin Timberlake and Steve Harvey.

“When you do it, you all should tag somebody else,” he added.

Since then, countless celebrities have announced their donations from monetary to providing shelter, clothing, food and medical supplies.

Drake wrote on Instagram on Monday that he and his manager are teaming up with relief groups in Texas to help get the victims back on their feet. "[Houston] has truly been a home to me over the last eight years," said the rapper.

During the 2017 MTV Video Music Awards Sunday night, Katy Perry, a Twitter user with a large fan following, encouraged viewers to use the link she tweeted to the Red Cross to donate.

We currently await and anticipate what public figures from athletes to musicians to politicians will do next to lend helping hands to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.
