Russell Simmons' Instagram page is a collage of affirmations, quotes and yoga poses. It’s clear that the hip-hop mogul is truly about that zen life. The devout yogi and author of Success Through Stillness and The Happy Vegan is dedicated to spreading the word on the physical and spiritual benefits of yoga.

When the Def Jam founder opened Tantris Yoga Center and Apparel Store in West Hollywood last November, it made perfect sense in keeping with his wellness brand. In the heavily saturated yoga market of West Hollywood, what sets Tantris apart from the typical yoga studio is the incorporation of Hip-Hop. In a recent interview with LA Weekly Simmons, who is heavily involved in curating the playlist said, “I didn’t build a yoga studio to be Mr. Me Too.  I built one to be the studio that I’d want to go to. This is fun. You’ll hear Nas, Migos and then Krishna Das and beautifully sung devotional chants.”

If you’re looking for a touch of hip-hop with your devotional yogic science, Uncle Rush got you.
