The series finale of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series gave an update about one OG couple from the film franchise.
15 years after Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens’ High School Musical characters sang and danced their way into our hearts, we finally have an update on the beloved couple’s current relationship status.
In the final season of the Disney+ show some juicy details about the original Wildcats crew were shared, including where Troy and Gabrielle’s relationship stands after all these years.
In the final season of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, several members of the original High School Musical cast — Corbin Bleu (Chad), Monique Coleman (Taylor), Kaycee Stroh (Martha), Alyson Reed (Miss Darbus), Bart Johnson (Coach Bolton) and Lucas Grabeel (Ryan) — reunite at East High to film High School Musical 4.
Corbin’s Bleu’s character, Chad, gave updates on a few of the characters.
During their reunion, Bleu’s character shared that he is now married to Taylor, the new principal of East High; Martha is a “world-class” choreographer; Ryan is happily married to his partner (played by Pentatonix’s Scott Hoenig) with twins on the way; and Miss Darbus is ready to give her final curtain call and retire.
As for Troy and Gabriella, Chad reveals that they “are in couples’ therapy.”
Well, it seems one of Disney’s most iconic pairings hit a rough patch in their relationship, but at least the high school sweethearts are still together.
