HEROES REBORNThe Haitian, as played by Jimmy Jean-Louis, will return for NBC’s "Heroes" reboot, titled "Heroes Reborn."

Jean-Louis joins the previously cast Judith Shekoni, a newcomer to the "Heroes" universe, apparently playing a character named Joanne, as I learned today from the series’ Facebook page, where I lifted the motion poster released this afternoon, which is embedded below. Although what her skills are, assuming she’s actually one of the "heroes," and what her overall involvement in the story this reboot will tell, is, are still a mystery. Her motion poster does read "Hunt what you hate," and she’s carrying a gun, with a sly stare; so can we assume that she may be one of the bad guys, hunting the heroes?

I’m certainly looking forward to finding out!

We do know that the aloof Haitian, aka René, whose abilities included memory manipulation and suppressing the powers of others, was an associate of Noah Bennet, played by Jack Coleman, father of Claire, and probably the most frequently seen character in the series. Coleman will be back as well to reprise his role as Bennet, as will Masi Oka as Hiro Nakamura.

Also in the cast are Zachary Levi, Robbie Kay, Danika Yarosh, all in series regular roles.

NBC ordered 13 episodes of the new stand-alone "Heroes Reborn," although specific storylines and characters have been kept under wraps. The reboot premieres Thursday, September 24 at 8/7c on NBC.

The wildly successful original series centered on the life-changing stories of a series of unrelated ordinary people who discovered they had superhuman abilities. As the saga unfolded, they learned they were part of a grand plan that brought them together to change the world.

The original series also cast featured Jamie Hector, Noah Gray-Cabey, Leonard Roberts, Ntare Mwine, and Tessa Thompson throughout its first four seasons.

Prior to the reboot’s premiere, NBC plans to release a digital series introducing all the new characters and storylines.
