J. Cole has set new records in the United States after he released his latest album KOD. According to Billboard, the rapper broke a record for the most album streams on Apple Music in 24 hours, beating Drake's first-day album streams for Views in 2016. KOD also broke a record by garnering 36.7 million first-streams on Spotify.

As Billboard reported, hip-hop is the leading streaming genre on Apple Music, with currently about 40 million paying customers. This is a significant increase in subscribers, considering Apple Music had about 13 million paying customers at the time Drake's Views was released, Billboard reported.

As fans excitedly stream J. Cole's new album, the rapper has also released a new music video for one of the album's tracks "ATM."
