Jazmine Sullivan‘s mother, Pam Sullivan, has died. The R&B singer announced the news on social media, explaining to her followers that she doesn’t “have the words” to express her feelings.

According to Bossip, Sullivan shared a photo of her mother as a child and penned a poignant message to her in the caption.

“I don’t have the words yet mommy. So for now I’ll say thank you thank you thank you. Rest now butterfly 🦋,” she wrote.

She also included the day she passed, which appears to be Saturday.

In the past, Sullivan has been candid about her mother’s health struggles, including several cancer battles. She told Hello Beautiful last year that her mother’s resilience is a source of inspiration for her.

“My mother is my biggest influencer – she’s actually here today,” Sullivan told Hello Beautiful at the 2022 Time 100 gala. “She is battling breast cancer for the second time, and I am really happy to have her be here. She has encouraged me and influenced me since I was born. So, I am so happy to she is here.”

In 2021, while appearing on People’s Every Day podcast, she shared that she teamed up with global healthcare company Novartis on the “More Than Just Words” initiative, which aims to find solutions to disparities in breast cancer care.

“We’ve definitely gotten closer,” she told the show’s host, Janine Rubenstein, about her relationship with her mother. “Obviously you appreciate people more if you even think that you could lose them, but I’ve been able to reciprocate the love and support that she’s given me all my life back to her. And I’m so fulfilled doing that.”

Heartfelt comments from fans and celebrities like Snoop Dogg, SZA, and Lauren London fill Sullivan’s post sharing her mother’s passing.
