Global entertainment agency WME (William Morris Endeavor) has signed on JET and Ebony magazines as clients. The two publications are under Ebony Media Operations.

According to an exclusive report from The Hollywood Reporter, WME will "work with EMO to expand its current print and digital footprint, enhance the brand and utilize the magazines' over 70 years of archival content."

"At the heart of publishing is the curation and telling of great stories. This concept is as relevant today as it was 70 years ago when our iconic magazines were founded. Our partnership with WME aligns with the growth plans and transformation CVG envision for Ebony Media Operations," said Willard Jackson, the group vice chairman of Clear View Group, the parent of Ebony Media.

After a 71-year run, Johnson Publishing sold EBONY and JET to Clear View

Just last week, Ebony was at the center of a controversy on social media when several freelance writers said that they were owed money for work done, using the hashtag #EbonyOwes.

Also, upon reviewing multiple employees' social media and Linkedin profiles it seems quite a few were let go this week. Kyra Kyles now lists Ebony Editor-in-Chief as a former position on her Twitter account.

The company has yet to make any sort of official statement about the changes.

Ebony was first founded in 1941 by John H. Johnson.
