John Legend Creates Campaign to End Mass Incarceration

John Legend has always been a celeb that has NO shame stating what he does and does not believe in. So, it comes as no surprise that he is launching a new campaign to end mass incarceration in the United States.

FREE AMERICA is multiyear program that will work to better the politics that surround the criminal justice system–with a particular focus on lowering incarceration rates. When the R&B crooner won an Oscar with Common for the Selma anthem “Glory,” he made it clear that he finds incarceration rates to be particularly disproportionate here in the US. The AP (by way of HuffPost) reports that Legend will attend an event in DC with Politico later this month. It is expected that more celebs will join Brother John’s effort.
