When it comes to keeping children (and parents/guardians) entertained, there are myriad options available — though it looks like something special about the YouTube channel called Jools TV.

Jools TV made its official debut back in Oct. 2020, and it’s described as “an animated children’s channel that focuses on edu-tainment (education and entertainment), consisting of adventures, learning, and music,” according to the page’s “About” section.

The channel currently has around 230K subscribers and nearly 90M total views, and it’s noted as being “4 the kids and 4 the culture.”

Jools TV is noteworthy because it features Black characters who serve as the animated versions of a Chicago family: the Brims.

“One day I told Justin, I’m like, ‘Hey, we don’t see a lot of kids that look like our children or look like us,'” matriarch Patrice Brim said, according to ABC 7 Chicago.

In response, Patrice and Justin Brim created a series that mainly gravitates around the adventures of their children: J.J., Jaxon, Jett and Jhy.

J.J., who passed away, is animated with wings and describes himself as his brothers’ “guardian angel” in the series introduction.

On top of memorializing their family and bringing in some Black cartoon representation, Jools TV also serves up some poppin’ bops.

“The music is what’s really catching on. We’re Black people and we love music,” Justin Brim explained, ABC 7 Chicago reports.

A quick scroll through the channel shows various “Hip Hop Remixes” to numerous different foundational kid’s songs, like “Head, Shoulders, Knees, & Toes.”

There are also other videos that contain bumpable “Trapery Rhymes.”

Additional projects include a song called “Brush,” which teaches children the importance of practicing dental hygiene to the tune of “Up” by Cardi B; there’s also a “Potty Song” with the same beat as “Body” by Megan Thee Stallion.

With dozens of videos on deck, there are plenty of original bops to keep kids learning while simultaneously being entertained.

With these projects, it’s no surprise that Jools TV has already become a hit. Check out some kids and parents reacting to the channel down below.

With numerous kids and adults clearly being enthralled with the channel, it looks like the Brim family may be onto something!
