Good news for me and you, your momma and your cousin, too! Bad news for Sean Spicer, for Donald Trump, and for the rest of the administration.

All around fantastic journalist and Blavity heroine April Ryan just got a big promotion. In a long-overdo move, Ryan herself reported on Twitter that she has been hired by CNN as a political analyst.

The American Urban Radio Networks White House correspondent and thorn in Sean Spicer’s leathery hide went from the byline to the headlines recently — first for helping our president realize that all black people do not, in fact, know one another, and last week by vexing Sean Spicer for having the nerve to slightly shake her head in resignation as he spun his daily web of lies glued together by newspeak.

“I’m not the news,” Ryan told The Hill, “I don’t like being in the news.”

We understand where she’s coming from, but have to admit, we like her being the news: Ryan asks questions of the Trump administration that others don’t, like when she asked about the CBC, or what Trump learned from his photo-op ready visit to the National Museum of African American History.

And with 20 years experience in Washington, she has the sort of insight and journalistic chops that make those that listen to her all the wiser and more informed.

As you might imagine, the congratulations have been pouring in:

And we'd like to add ours: congrats to you, April — we’ll be watching.
