NBC never did pick up the women's prison drama pilot Bad Girls – an adaptation of a UK series – that Jurnee Smollett was a star of.
But the young actress has locked in 2 other TV jobs, including the previously-mentioned role as the daughter of Phylicia Rashad’s character, in NBC's Jekyll-and-Hyde-ish thriller, Do No Harm, as well as today's reveal – that she'll be joining the cast of HBO‘s True Blood during its upcoming sixth season.
Ms Smollett will play Nicole Wright, described as "wide-eyed… who is not concerned with money and more concerned with the common good and doing what’s right."
This'll be a series regular role for her, by the way.
True Blood‘s sixth season is scheduled to begin in June.
Smollett will next be seen on the big screen in Tyler Perry's Temptation: Confessions of a Marriage Counselor.
