Kanye West unveiled the brand-new music video for “Eazy” yesterday, and it swiftly began trending on social media for its “disturbing” subject matter.

About a minute-and-a-half into the video, which is mostly claymation, Kanye West begins his verse, and he is seen kidnapping Pete Davidson. Immediately after, the video momentarily switches from claymation to real life and depicts Kanye holding a mangled, decapitated head. The video soon progresses with Kanye dragging Davidson through the desert, burying him, and growing a rose bush out of his head.

The video then shows a truck full of flowers, a reference to a gesture he made to Kim Kardashian earlier this year. A message then appears on the screen.

“Everyone lived happily ever after. Except Skete you know who,” the message read.

Soon after the video began circulating, people began buzzing about it on Twitter with their reactions. Most users criticized Kanye for the video, particularly considering it was dropped immediately after Kim Kardashian was declared legally single.

Others went on to outright call Kanye a narcissist.

However, it’s also worth acknowledging that some pointed out how Kanye isn’t the first to make disturbing content like this.

Despite these efforts, most users defended Davidson, and some even called for the rapper to be “de-platformed like Trump.”

People also shared their concerns about the situation potentially escalating, while others took aim at people’s “faux rage” over the matter.

Lastly, one person suggested the ultimate Davidson comeback: a collab with Taylor Swift.
