Kid Cudi responded the disrespectful Twitter comments speculating over his sexuality. The 39-year-old rapper had a lot to say to “homophobes” about their “sad” lives.

The rant stemmed from Cudi posting a smiling selfie on his Instagram. His post was intended to be a positive message sending “love” to his fans and claiming that his week “felt like it was gonna be a good one.”

While most followers assumed the post hinted at the “Day N’ Night” rapper dropping new music, some took it as a chance to be hateful.

“Bro turning zestier and zestier 😭,” one person said.

Another person asked, “When did he come out the closet?”

Cudi responded to the comments on his Twitter, expressing his feelings over how anytime he attempts to show emotion, it leads to conversations about his sexuality.

“U know whats crazy, and really makes me question the world we live in, is when I post a picture of me smiling on ig and theres mad comments questioning my sexuality floodin my page w insults,” he wrote.

“I feel really bad for yall man. Its sad out here,” he continued. “Man cant even smile and be happy no more. Smh.”

The rapper, born Scott Mescudi, proceeded to address the comments and question where people were coming from.  Adding that the comments were coming from people who “will be miserable their whole lives.”

Fans attempted to divert Cudi’s attention from the disgusting comments. He clarified that he wasn’t “insulted” but found the comments to be sad.

“Its just sad to see people so lame, its sad someone, a man, cant show joy without there being some conversation about their sexually.”

Throughout the thread, the rapper explained why he would never stop smiling despite some people spewing ignorance.

The rapper was showered with love and admiration from fans who celebrated his vulnerability and willingness to show emotion.

He revealed his strict upbringing led him to vow that he would never allow anyone to dim his light.
