Here’s a second, longer teaser for the VH1-ordered Kimberly Elise scripted hour-long drama Hit The Floor (previously-titled Bounce), which co-stars newcomer Taylour Paige, Charlotte Ross, Logan Browninghas and Dean Cain.
Still no sign of Elise though. Obviously the show’s emphasis is on the young dancers, and not their mothers.
And it is VH1, so the target audience the upcoming series skews younger anyway.

Sanaa Hamri directed the pilot episode of a show that will focus on the lives and loves of a team of professional basketball dancers.

Hit The Floor follows the lives and loves of the Los Angeles Devil Girls, the dance team for the No.1 professional basketball team in the country. It centers on Ahsha (Taylour Paige), a sheltered young woman who joins the team against the wishes of her mother Sloane (Kimberly Elise), who knows this treacherous, tempting world all too well having been an original Devil’s Girl herself. Olivia (Charlotte Ross) is the shrewd squad manager, Jelena (Logan Browning) is the ruthless star captain of the dance team and Pete Davenport (Dean Cain) is the former All-Star who’s come back to coach his old team only to have to contend with the girls both stealing the spotlight and distracting his players.

The cast also includes Valery OrtizKatherine BailessJonathan McDaniel, Rob Riley and McKinley Freeman

nullVH1 has now set the premiere date for Hit The Floor for MondayMay 27, 9/8c.

The new series will provide the audience with a glimpse at what goes on behind-the-scenes – the mechanics of it all – of a professional dance/cheerleading team, with the cast of pro dancers that make up the show; and this IS indeed a scripted series, not a reality TV show, by the way, which might be a surprise to some since it is VH1 we’re talking about here.

Not my cup of team; but then again, I’m not in the target demo. Although I’m sure I’ll check out the pilot to get a feel for the series, at least.

It’s been called “VH1’s biggest scripted effort to date.”

Here’s the new longer, fiery teaser:
