Prepare to see a lot more of La La Anthony on Starz’s BMF.
The show’s cast is getting a little bigger, La La Anthony and Kelly Hu are joining the cast of BMF as series regulars with Christine Horn joining as a recurring cast member.
Anthony’s reprising her Season 1 character Markisha Taylor, who is described as “the smart, sophisticated and street savvy wife of a powerful Detroit dealer.” This season, Markisha develops a friendship with Terry Flenory (Da’Vinchi), despite the risk of such a relationship.
Hu will play Det. Veronica Jin, described as "a smart, complex and tough cop out on the streets."
Her character’s arc is also quite topical for today, since she is a Chinese-American woman character carving out a place for herself within the police department. According to the description, “Jin’s emotional journey is both universal and unique as she is a product of the American Dream shaped by her Chinese immigrant parents, but unique because Jin becomes the only Asian American, female detective in the murder capital of the world in the ‘80s.”
Horn will play Mabel Jones, described as “a trusted friend and neighbor to the Flenory family.” While she comes off as “vivacious,” the Flenory family “will discover there’s more to Mabel than what meets the eye.”
