Law & Order has tapped Mehcad Brooks as one of its new leads — Shadow and Act has confirmed.
The news comes on the heels of Anthony Anderson’s departure. He left the show after only signing a one-year deal to return for the show’s television come back.
No details are known about Brooks' character, just that he'll be playing a detective.
This is the first major television role for Brooks after departing Supergirl after six seasons.
He joins a cast that includes Sam Waterson, Jeffrey Donovan, Mehcad Brooks, Camryn Manheim, Hugh Dancy and Odelya Halevi.
Dick Wolf is the series creator and executive producer.
Rick Eid, Arthur Forney and Peter Jankowski are executive producers.
The show is produced by Wolf Entertainment and Universal Television, a division of Universal Studio Group.
