It is hard enough to have one successful career and be at the top of your game. But for some people like Christie Stancil Matthews, she has successfully had two careers and has both to build wealth.
Matthews is a business and law professor as well as a practicing lawyer. In 2014, the accomplished woman partnered up with her father, Melvin Stancil, to launch their company Stancil Investments & Design. Since its inception, the duo has flipped 20 homes and raked in $2.3 million.
They have bought, renovated and sold homes making their mark in the Charlotte, North Carolina housing market which is indicative of their motto: "Stylish Renovations. Smart Investments." She started young gaining valuable experience from her father.
"As a preteen, I scraped paint, cleaned floors and generally did whatever else was needed to turn trashed rentals into treasured income producers," Matthews said. "I didn't love it then, but I love it now especially now that I have a team to do the work."
It is not surprising that Matthews' father has also had a career in a different field too. He was an engineer with decades of real estate investing experience that was instrumental in the company's profitability.
Their success has inspired them to help others looking to start their own companies and be the masters of their destinies. So, Matthews will offer design, real estate investing and other wealth-building informational products, per the company's website.
