Lee Daniels previously shared that he’d been hounding Oprah Winfrey about appearing on his hit Fox series "Empire." In the video interview below with Access Hollywood that surfaced yesterday, the filmmaker confirmed that Oprah will indeed appear on the series next season.

And he also mentioned that Common will join the growing list of season 2 guest-stars as well. Although he didn’t say what roles exactly each of them will play.

"Yes. She’s gonna be on it," Daniels said of Oprah (who previously worked with Daniels on "The Butler." 

And about Common’s appearance, he said: "Oh yeah, for sure. For absolutely sure. We’re gonna have a good time. You heard that first."

The season 1 finale of "Empire" airs next week Wednesday at 8/7c on Fox, in a 2-hour event.
