While nothing’s been set in stone, the thought alone of hearing that timeless theme song once again has fans excited.
Living Single has solidified itself as one of the best sitcoms not only of the 1990s but of all time. Khadijah, Maxine, Synclaire and Regine were inspirations to all, many of us relating almost too well to their journeys as black women navigating the madness of adulthood. For five seasons, audiences tuned in every Thursday to catch all the hijinks of the eccentric twenty-somethings.

Latifah also spoke about the inspiration the show seemed to have left on another ‘90s staple: Friends. “It was one of those things where there was a guy called Warren Littlefield, who used to run NBC, and they asked him, ‘When all the new shows came out, if there was any show you could have, which one would it be?’ And he said Living Single … and then he created Friends.”
The actress and hip-hop legend closed out by saying “it’s not there yet, but hopefully we can get it happening.”
Even in a millennial world, we’re glad we’ve got our girls … even if it’s just for a moment.
