Don Lemon has been extra outspoken against racists and members of the Trump administration within the past year. Of course, those who identify as either (or both) haven't been too pleased with that. Unfortunately, one man seems to have taken his hatred too far.

According to The Hill, Benjamin Craig Matthews has been arrested for allegedly calling CNN's Atlanta headquarters 40 times to threaten Lemon's life. The calls came in between October 31 and November 2, as Lemon covered the midterm elections.

CBS News reports Matthews allegedly threatened to "kick the s**t out of" Lemon. The 39-year-old also reportedly asked for his call to be connected to the "pipe bombs" sent to Lemon and often spoke of gory acts, including seeing the anchor's "dead body hanging from a tree." Matthews also talked of "bloody pictures" featuring Lemon "cut up in small pieces, like the movie Saw."

Matthews faces five felony counts of terroristic threatening and 13 misdemeanor threat and harassing communication counts.

In addition to Lemon, Matthews reportedly made similar calls to Trump nemeses Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA), Senator Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and Stormy Daniels' attorney Michael Avenatti.

CNN has not commented on the arrest. Matthews is currently in custody and expected to appear in court on Thursday, November 15.
