Mary Cosby‘s parents are adding another layer to the numerous headlines and controversy that The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star has been surrounded in this season.
Her parents spoke with Up and Adam Live recently and claimed that their daughter’s marriage to Robert Cosby Sr. was one conceived out of manipulation and that she never wanted to marry Robert.
“Mary was not Bob Cosby’s first choice,” her estranged father shares. “She does not want to be married to her step-grandfather. She never did want to be married to him.”
Cosby’s father details that Robert misrepresented what Cosby’s late grandmother meant when she declared she wanted Cosby to take over the church.
“He convinced her by saying, ‘Mama wanted you to marry me,’ plus here’s a couple hundred thousand dollars, and it’s your birthday; here’s a BMW,” Cosby’s father continued. He insists that “she needs to remove herself very quickly because, under Bob Cosby, it is a cult.”
Cosby has continually been a hot topic this season with her racially insensitive remarks and statements via social media.
Her introduction to viewers in season one became the talking point of the show when Cosby announced that she had married her late grandmother’s husband in an effort to to fulfill her grandmother’s wishes take over the church.
The peculiar marriage arrangement caused many to ponder if Cosby’s late grandmother really desired her granddaughter to wed Robert.
