Starring the Emmy Award nominee and beloved Saturday Night Live veteran, NBC has scheduled The Maya Rudolph Show for MondayMay 19 (10 pm ET/PT).

Rudolph, David JaverbaumErin David and Dave Becky will produce, with Lorne Michaels serving as executive producer. 

Revisiting the classic variety show format, The Maya Rudolph Show will feature guest stars Craig Robinson, Diallo RiddleBashir Salahuddin, Andy SambergKristen BellFred ArmisenChris Parnell, and Sean Hayes.

Grammy Award-nominated singer-songwriter Janelle Monae will serve as the musical guest. R&b singer-producer Raphael Saadiq will be the bandleader.

Rudolph was part of Saturday Night Live from 2000-11, performing in hundreds of sketches and earning an Emmy nomination in 2012 for guest actress in a comedy series.

On the small screen, she recently appeared on NBC’s Up All Night.

It’s worth noting that the Rudolph special will air a few days after the conclusion of the Rosemary’s Baby miniseries that stars Zoe Saldana, next week, also on NBC.

It’s currently unclear whether The Maya Rudolph Show will become a permanent series for the network, or just a single one-night special. It could also be acting as a test-run, and if a success, NBC just might upgrade it to a weekly franchise. So tune in on the 19th and make it a hit (assuming you enjoy it).
