nullFor the first time, Meagan Good has landed a lead role as a regular in a TV series!

According to Deadline, in the Universal TV and BermanBraun's NBC drama pilot Notorious, Good will play detective Joanna Locasto, in the series described as an "opulent soap."

Written by Liz Heldens, Good's character goes undercover as the housekeeper's daughter into the family she grew up in to investigate the murder of her childhood friend – celebutante Vivian Lawson.

Good can be seen this season in Showtime's Californication. She also co-stars in Dysfunctional Friends, currently in select theaters. She will be seen next on the big screen in Think Like A Man, which hits theaters April 20th.

There are several pilots from major networks headlined by Black actors. Among them are Cuba Gooding Jr.'s starring role in Fox's Guilty Pilot,  Andre Braugher in ABC's The Last Resort, and Kerry Washington's upcoming ABC series Scandal. There have been also been numerous announcements the past few weeks of Black actors cast in pilots' supporting roles.

It seems like things are looking up for actors of color working on television. Let's just hope these shows garner healthy ratings to stay on the air. Which reminds me, I should really plan on watching and keeping track on these shows.
