Megan Thee Stallion showed up and showed out in her graduation photos. The "Cash S**t" rapper posted a set of pictures from her shoot on Instagram in honor of the upcoming occasion. Wearing a body-bearing pink bikini set and her commencement cords, she posed in a Houston-esque tribute shoot in front of a few lit-up cars.
"Showed my a** and still went to class," she wrote in the caption. "IMA ALWAYS STAND OUT WITH NO HANDOUTS doing everything they said I can’t/couldn’t ! Megan Thee Mf Stallion aka the mf Htown Hottie is graduating dec 11th from TEXAS SOUTHERN UNIVERSITY now go and talk abt that!"
Several notable celebrities like Juicy J, Baby Tate, Slim Thug, Taraji P. Henson and others left congratulatory comments under the post.
"Congrats! Verse killer," Juicy J said.
"Love this!!! Congratulations Megan," Tate, who will also be featured on the upcoming soundtrack for Halle Berry's film Bruised, said.
The 26-year-old will be graduating from Texas Southern University, an HBCU, with a degree in health administration, something she said she was inspired to do since she grew up watching both her mother and grandmother take care of her great-grandmother.
In a recent Glamour Magazine cover story honoring her as one of their Women of the Year 2021, she said that her decision to get into the field is also her way of ensuring jobs for new and recent college graduates.
“I see a lot of my peers — a lot of people I went to high school with,” she said. “They get their degree in, like, biology and then work at Forever 21. But why? Because nobody wants to give you a job because you don’t have experience.”
The rapper asserted her concern for the lack of Black women in the labor force. She also shared that she intends to use her degree to open assisted living facilities that can provide round-the-clock family care for people in need of assistance.
