Megan Thee Stallion has prevailed in her defamation lawsuit against blogger Milagro Cooper. A Florida jury ruled on Monday, concluding that Cooper defamed Megan after Tory Lanez shot her in 2020.
Initially, Megan was awarded $75,000, but U.S. District Court Judge Cecilia M. Altonaga later reduced the amount to $59,000, according to Variety.
Megan Thee Stallion sued blogger Milagro Cooper for defamation in 2024
Megan filed her lawsuit against Cooper, also known as Milagro Gramz, in October 2024. As she filed her lawsuit, the rapper said the blogger is a “paid surrogate” and “mouthpiece” for Lanez, who received a 10-year sentence on three felony charges. The lawsuit also stated that Cooper encouraged her followers to check out a fake, sexually explicit video of Megan.
“I feel like … to this day, I feel a little, like, defeated,” Megan said in court, per Variety. “Because no matter what, no matter if the video was fake or not … [Gramz] wanted it to be real.”
Megan also shared that she struggled with her mental health as a result of the fake video: “It’s really embarrassing to have to look at what the people don’t know,” she said. “See, in a position like that, like, I know it’s not me, but to be in front of everybody else and they have to watch it — it’s really embarrassing.”
In January 2025, the court issued a five-year restraining order against Lanez. Megan revealed that he continues to harass her from prison.
“I feel like maybe he’ll shoot me again, and maybe this time I won’t make it,” Megan said, according to Variety.

“I’m not ecstatic,” Cooper told reporters, according to NBC News. “Of course you want things to go your way, but like I said, I respect the jury and what they decided.”
Cooper’s attorney, Jeremy McLymont, said he was relieved to see that the judge reduced the amount awarded.
“We respect the jury’s verdict. You always have to, right? Whether we agree with it or not, we respect it,” McLymont said, per NBC News.
