When it comes to "undefeated side-eyes," Michelle Obama is a legend among the legends. The former first lady knows how to cut a look, and the 45th president has been subject to her most infamous side-eyes.

As a bulk of America watched the inducting-ceremony with chagrin, we were treated to this joyous moment:

And as America went wild, the Internet erupted into a meme-fest.

Reporting from the American Institute of Architects convention, the Independent got the truth: Mrs. Obama she wasn't necessarily throwing shade at the Trumps; she was simply trying to bottle her emotions.

Our former first lady noted that the beginning of the inauguration marked the last moments that her teenage daughters, Malia and Sasha, would have in the White House, the home they’d lived in for the past eight years.

“So that moment of transition, right before the doors opened and we welcomed in the new family, our kids were leaving out the back door in tears, saying goodbye to people,” she told the audience in Orlando, Florida. The girls celebrated and honored the past eight years by having a sleepover at the White House on their very last night, the eve of Inauguration Day.

She added, “I didn’t want to have tears in my eyes because people would swear I was crying because of the new president."

But, just in case you think these range of emotions mean that she wishes to do this all over again, think again. “I wouldn’t ask my children to do this again,” she said. Valid!
