Today, January 17th marks what would have been Muhammad Ali's 76th birthday.

In honoring the deceased legend, we found one of his many iconic interviews. In this 1971 interview on the British Parkinson show, Ali breaks down why arguing that "not all white people are racist" does nothing for the movement. This is an argument that is still being made today in the face of injustices against black people and other POC. Use Ali's timeless response as a reminder for why "not ALL _____" is never the correct response to our issues.

"There are many white people who mean right and in their hearts wanna do right. If 10,000 snakes were coming down that aisle now, and I had a door that I could shut, and in that 10,000, 1,000 meant right, 1,000 rattlesnakes didn’t want to bite me, I knew they were good… Should I let all these rattlesnakes come down, hoping that that thousand get together and form a shield? Or should I just close the door and stay safe?" Ali says in the interview.

We're thankful for the wisdom that still resonates today. Rest In Power to the Greatest.
